431-VintageCostume

431-ContCostume

This months RRauction follows up from the auction held earlier this year that did exceptionally well. This event will be covering contemporary and older props and wardrobe and includes some great pieces highlighted below with some stories behind them.

First up is this stunning “Star Trek 3″ Klingon phaser pistol with coa from ThePropstore of London. This piece will probably hit 2 or 3k if im not mistaken. Its a very rare example.

3324574_1

This Maltese Falcon replica is a rare example of Icons prop replicas workmanship and is one of two known to have been made. The other resides at Warner Bros. Coming with full provenance from the Manager of Icons Jim Latta this is a rare and beautiful example of a piece made for those to collect who couldn’t afford the millions of dollars to buy the original “dingus”

3324992_2

This prototype Gremlin, again with Propstore COA comes from Rick Bakers personal archive. I expect it to fetch 2-3k.

3324066_1

This beautiful costume from Immortals worn by John Hurt is complete and comes with original paperwork.

IMG_3374

and this costume from Hot Tub Time machine is a great piece for collectors of comedy and features on the original poster for the film

IMG_2678

For fans of GI Joe this nearly complete costume was worn by Dennis Quaid in the first film. The complete costume is custom made including the leather jacket with removable arms, and the GI JOE logo trousers with rubber upraised type.

3310674_1

One of my favourite items from my own personal collection is the UNI-SOL costume worn by various actors and original headset. A very rare piece and I hope it goes to a good home.

universal-soldier-movie-screencaps_com-1171

I also really liked the gold ring worn by Liam Neeson as Schindler in Schindlers List….a really cool prop from an important film.

Take a look at the auction which begins on line June 19th and ends on the 26th. Remember to bid early as the bidtracker software will close out at 6pm est and if you haven’t bid you will be unable to bid to extend the time like a live auction which is something that has worked very well for bidders, and thus not missing out on the item at the last second like on ebay.

Good luck!

Anatomy of a Klingon: One of the items in the Screenused March 2013 auction

Whilst viewing the auction I found this item again, originally from Christies 2006 which I just had to draw attention to. The following 3 pictures tell a true history of this beautiful item.

Pablo is Pablo Soriano here. He played a Klingon in Voyager’s Prophecy! Sadly no idea on De Mille. Doug Wilson was a background Klingon on Voyager. Ossmann is not mentioned and Gruz covered above.

So next we have a Paramount original Services label that I haven’t seen before. Then Michael Papajohn who played a Klingon in Enterprises “Judgement”….boy this costume has been split up and around! Theres something under that we can’t see too. Then an original 1980’s Paramount tag saying this is Klingon 12! gruz in the last pic has been covered. Regular trek stuntman Brian J Williams doubled Data MANY times but in DS9 he played Robert O’Reilly’s character Gowron! So this was also in part a GOWRON!!!!!

Bill Craker top left I have no information on, possibly an extra. Bill Blair in red top right is actually one of the more rubber soaked actors who has played a multitude of aliens in the show. See here. This is actually the full costume here in Deep Space Nine’s THE HOUSE OF QUARK episode. I believe this is the full one as auctioned.

Jerome Butler on top of that tag played General Korok in Voyager’s UNIMATRIX ZERO. This was a two part episode. The tunic pictured is different so just this part was used in the episode.

Ken Gruz played a Klingon in Voyager. I believe this is that tunic.

Scott Leva played a Klingon transporter officer in Star Trek 6. Again his name is featured.

Arent these pictures of the inside of this Klingon AMAZING! I’ve never seen such a tagged item in the Trek universe and there are tags upon tags…indeed one of the items above has 4 tags ontop of each other. The history there waiting to be peeled!!!! Lets take a look and see exactly who these people are and what they were in. (For ease I have posted that information under each photo.)

Here is the costume as it stands in the auction. The cloaks were made for Star Trek 3 and are beautiful!

So there you have it. Bit more researched than the SU version of the auction. A possible tunic worn by Gowron. Missing no longer folks!

Premiere Props Day 1 Review of the 8th Holiday Extravaganza auction

Well with yesterdays auction behind us time to review the events and prices. Firstly I think the event as advertised really well on TV and in the media in general. Certainly it was a pleasant surprise to see stuff on Access Hollywood live and even as far flung a tv piece from Australia! Also if you logged onto I collector 2 weeks before the giant banner ads were prevalent for the two weeks before the sale. Top marks! If you didn’t know about it you were probably not interested or asleep.

zz225942Now the quality of the items I think I said a few days ago that I thought this was one of the strongest events that PP has ever put on. Certainly the selection was wide and just about a reasonably priced item every 10 lots that was of a good quality.

So we covered a few days ago the top items. What sold and for how much….lets delve into that.

Well lot 12 the Batman 3 mask was passed…although one was sold by PP a few months back for $13k. Sadly it was kind of a trend in this auction that the really cool stuff didn’t reach what I thought were very fair reserves even though Profiles may have sold them for more.

The Killers from space eyes mounted on a head went for $1000. A cool piece, shown below.

zzz225946The Jango unfinished blaster from Episode 2 sold for $750, and the raw cast hand went for $1300.

Lot 30 Barabara Streisands beautiful Yentl jacket that came from her foundation probably wasnt in the right crowd and failed to sell. Still, an amazing piece with solid Provenance.

zz225945A beautiful Madonna fingerless glove sold for $1300!

Then for $1500 the Castaway lot of skates and necklace sold.

Most people reading my boards will know that I loved this next piece….a steal at $5900!

The Daniel Craig Bond knife sold for $1600 and can be found here.

The Die another day gun can be found here….$2400!

The Sulu trk tunic was passed. In my view it was a Phase II costume…but still a beautiful piece of Trek history and it showed amazing on camera with Premieres resident historian explaining some of the details!

The Alfred Hitchcock “Under Capricorn” shrunken head was another superb piece pulled out of thin air. Kudos to PP for this. Very rare but sold for a reasonable $1800.

zz225944Linda Blairs tongue from The Exorcist…does it get anymore iconic! $2100 to a lucky bidder. Simply an amazing piece!

zz225943Adam Sandlers CLICK remote sold for just over $1000. Then Martin Kove took the stage. Martin is best remembered from The Karate Kid, Rambo Part 2 and Steel Justice and always played the heavy until a six season run in Cagney and Lacey. A charming smile under a little bit of an icy stair Martin was awesome with his anaecdotes and tales of the props! Kudos PP….more of this. It was awesome. I will post video in the next day or so of Martin talking! Here he is below with his double samurai sword from Steel Justice which sold for a VERY reasonable $300. Its a B movie….with heart!

zz225941Wierd Al’s Twinkie….possibly the rarest of these since being taken off the market sold for $200!

A mask from Moonwalker did $1400…..not a bad price. There was more Jackson stuff but nothing truly memorable. Sadly even the 50k glove never met its reserve even with an intriguing Tito Jackson backstory.

The Munchkin baldcap deservedly sold at $2500! A very neat piece of history.  The gold goblet from Last Crusades background grails went for $850.

Christian Bales sheepskin coat costume from the first part of Terminator Salvation sold for $2300…. A nice piece I would have been happy to own. I cant help but feel it may have gone for more in Profiles though.

Same with this piece…worn by Robert Patrick from T2….$5000 seemed like a great price too me.

A few nice vintage pieces sold…a Basil Rathbone costume impressed, and then after lots of trinkets from Pirates of the Carribean a really nice item, a Snake from “Propstore” used in Kill Bill 2 solf for $500. The headset from Reign over me worn by Adam Sandler fetched $350, and then a Ben Hurr helmet suddenly energised the room at $1000.

This Underworld 3 armor has been on the block a few times before and now with a lower reserve sold for a VERY reasonable $850. These things are VERY intricate.

I picked up an Underworld weapon in two lots which I will show off later this week!

By this time clearly bidder fatigue had stepped in. People had drifted away from the auction and prices were definitely in my mind down. Something that PP needs to watch because for a buyer its good…but as a seller I feel its not so good!

There were some real deals here from past catalog Premiere Props movies….some like a jacket from 30 minutes or less going for $50 that might have sold last year for $200 or more.

And with that the next 100 lots kind of limped on thru autographs and artwork. Not the roar to the finish one hopes.

Sundays auction promises ALOT of cool things. Join us Monday for the recap!

Interesting stuff isn’t it. It seems when someone else bids people dearly want to join in…a kind of group mentality…but otherwise the items stay at sometimes $50….just waiting to be pounced on.

Im not sure how many people know that you can see this info on I collector but its very useful.
See you with our daily reviews of the events this weekend!

Premiere Props: Christmas auction spectacular 2012 highlights

Just want to bring some attention to some of the really cool and solid items in the next auction to be held next Saturday in Los Angeles. Of course you can bid by phone or in person!

First up…even before the auction has begun at $4,000 this Batman cowl from the Fourth movie is already the star item of the auction.

https://i0.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14845392_1.jpg

It looks all kinds of authentic to me and like the last Batman cowl sold by PP I believe this will go north of $10,000. Its a beautiful piece.

Next up this gun purports to be from Attack of the Clones, the second newest “Star Wars” film and unfortunately theres just a pic of the gun to go by. Its priced right for an unpainted production piece so take a look here Jango Fett gun.

Here is another Star Wars piece attributed to Empire Strikes back. This is a casting of Mark Hamills hand used for the sequence when he cuts it chopped off!

https://i1.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14772537_1.jpg

Allready at $800 this piece should do well and it is beautifully presented by its original owner.

Well there is no way I can not say the next item is the highlight of the sale for me. Just an outstanding piece of filmic history and displayed just perfectly!

https://i0.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14772541_2.jpg

Yes I would like this for Christmas! What a stunning item. If ‘Forrest Gump” is your thing I strongly recomend you take a look at this! Prepare for some bumpy bidding though! This is gonna go high!

Trek fans you have this wonderful Andy Probert piece that has been repainted a number of times for use in the first movie, and then then the third movie and possibly on TNG. Its a beautiful model/character piece and having first been used in the motion picture as Kirk I can’t think of much better items to have from the film. Very Memorable!

https://i1.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14772542_1.jpg

I just love this piece but Im afraid that nearly 20k is too much to ask in my opinion….maybe nearer 5-8k.

The Bloodrayne costume, altough campy is nicely made and for around $500 a bargain.

https://i0.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14845438_1.jpg

If your lucky enough to win the swords they can be placed in the back for display!

Martin Kove,  best known as the older villain from the Karate kid films has put some of his own items in the auction…and its a real coup for PP. This particular prop from Rambo is outstanding!

https://i0.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14845455_2.jpg

Described as “A true iconic piece of movie memorabilia! Hero screen worn unique leather bullet necklace worn by Martin Kove as the character of Ericson in “Rambo: First Blood II” (1985). Includes two rare production photos autographed by Kove.” I think that this will go in the $500-1000 range easily!

As you can tell I’m very excited for this sale…there’s some really near stuff!

This stunning wardrobe piece is missing its front and rear armor but otherwise is a classic piece of Scifi costuming from the movie “Spaceballs” worn by John Candy. It even says #1 inside! A really special piece!

https://i1.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14845509_1.jpg

So whats after that. Well…lots of Terminator 4 items, which, although the movie was bad, the costuming and props are top notch!

https://i1.wp.com/media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14535/14845509_1.jpg

We Will be covering the second day tomorrow!
